Welcome back to the Healthy Life Podcast...last week I left you with the fact that I had learned that rehabilitation can only properly happen as the body and our neurological data pathways heal. I also expressed that I was often pushed to do something that failed miserably and left a lasting negative impression.
So ... you ask... where does that leave you now? Well, I was right about being responsible for our own healing and progress but now that’s it has become the reality is unfortunately a path that many of you find yourself on. For me... It was three years of trying everything and in my doctors and therapists minds being the perfect patient. I did everything they asked and yet after three years I still had no feeling on my entire right side, limited mobility (50 feet with assistance), limited movement of extremities, big vision problems, cognitive and memory issues and expressive aphasia!
I understand frustration, doubts, and feeling depressed. Been there... done that! But we. must accept the reality of the situation we are in. I’m not going to get religious on you but we are body, mind, and spirit. In other words we have a physical component, mental component, and emotional component... and too often we only focus on the physical! When we experience physical challenges we tend to invest more time and energy in exercise but we seldom look to heal our total self and other issues that are affecting our recovery.
Funny, but I had to go to another country and learn from them what makes us whole! We developed a 90 day program with them specific to stroke and TBI that is focused on healing the total body. Remember how I said our neurological data pathways needed to heal? I’ve also learned that it is a comprehensive process not just physical. Not forced but built... establish and reinforced in a positive and uplifting environment. You learn to be a strong independent individual not just a compliant patient ... a survivor who is also an overcomer.
You know we are approaching the holiday season. The season that boasts of miracles... well TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) is medicine and not a miracle, predictable and reproducible. TCM Restoration is preparing for and helping a limited number of people again next year and have only a total number of 30 openings available for 2020... Many are filled already but I don’t think I’d fulfill my duty to share healing if I didn’t say something. You know I’ve devoted the last 16 years of my life helping others... not working at some job but devoting and giving of my time to bring restoration to others. I’m still excited every day as I see the advances that people make that they never dreamed possible!
If you or someone you know... isn’t satisfied with where they are and are thinking of what they can do next visit tcmrestoration.net and fill out an application form. TCM Restoration interviews each applicant and only invites those to participate that they know will both fit their program and be successful. Because this program is overseas it is not covered by Medicare and personal insurance may cover as an out of area expense. The total cost is about $30,000 for 3 months (not for a day, or a week, but 3 months) this price includes all treatment, a room in a 5 Star hotel, 24/7 personal medical assistant, assisted and monitored rehab exercises, and so much more. TCM Restoration takes the guesswork out of restoration.
I’ve devoted my life to helping others and the only regret that I have ever had was that I didn’t know these things for 3 years... I regret the fact that I didn’t come sooner and as a result... spent years frustrated and not healing. I have learned so much and have spent my time and energy helping others... it’s so important that people get good solid information in a timely manner. I am a great advocate of checking things out thoroughly and only believing what you can vet. However, after spending decades in the medical system I now have a healthy understanding of things that the US medical profession labels as anecdotal evidence.... after all... my treatment and results are supposedly anecdotal evidence. If I didn’t see it repeated regularly in a country whose medical history dwarfs that of the US.... 20 fold (4000 years to 200) I’d probably have doubts too. The one truth I’ve learned is we don’t always have the best solutions... but we definitely have the most expensive.
