Welcome back to the Healthy Life Podcast...wow... have I missed you and this broadcast. I’m finally back in the US and waiting the arrival of our second grandson to enter the world. So I’ll apologize tor taking some time off from all social media to get caught up with family. But it’s onward and marching forward....so what choices do we need to make today to lead us to our tomorrows. How do we keep from being stuck in a rut? If we are indeed approaching the holidays ... the season of miracles... what are we expecting or creating in our lives today?! How are we setting our expectations just a bit higher? You know I challenged you with the 7 Steps to Success... but how many have implemented them? What about just one of them?
So... how about this week we focus on doing just one?! Let’s take a second to think about and jot down or list one thing we are thankful for today... it doesn’t need to be complex or complicated and I’ll post one thing and ask others to take just a moment and post one too! It’s simple to do but requires action on your part. It’s a first step! I’m going to do it online and see how many will also list one thing...
You know the other day I said I’d start helping you to be or become successful but I think most of us have to get negative thoughts out of our own heads and paint a mental picture of being successful.
When you close your eyes and picture yourself... what do you see? Flaws, imperfections, challenges? I hope you see beyond that... I hope you see who you are inside. We each have so much to offer but we often limit ourselves before we start. We need to take a moment to think about what we are grateful for. If it is difficult then begin with something easy... after I woke from my coma I was grateful just to swallow... then eat... first it was puree and then months later it became steak. I can look back over the last 20 years and remember each stage and each challenge that my stroke took me through and it’s because of that, that I can share my victories...(no matter how slow) and extend and offer hope to others. Each day we need to see something we are grateful for, each day we need to understand that we are a work in progress! No we are not the same as we were pre-stroke! We have so much more that we will accomplish on a daily basis than we ever did before.
Well I’m going to end our time together and challenge you to start today by identifying that one thing you are grateful for!...Thanks so much for joining me as we learned more about being greatful and how critical that is to to insure success in our rehab....... join me tomorrow as we learn more our bodies.
